We are currently looking for a friendly and professional assistant to help provide cover in the Oxfordshire area on an ad-hoc basis as required. Purpose of Post

  • Provide full support to Sonographers performing Ultrasound scans for patients referred to the service.
  • To undertake the care and reassurance of patients undergoing ultrasound scans in a professional and empathetic manner including acting as a chaperone for all ultrasound scans
  • To contribute to the smooth running of the Ultrasound Service and to work closely with all other staff.


  • Providing support to Sonographers performing ultrasound scans for patients referred to Physiological Measurements Ltd.
  • Set up and tidy of clinic room prior to clinic commencement.
  • Entering patient details onto Ultrasound machine accurately.
  • Collection of patients from waiting room and escorting them into clinic
  • Explaining to patients the preparatory requirements for the examination and ensuring their correct positioning on the couch by communicating effectively and appropriately with all users of the service.
  • To undertake the care and reassurance of patients undergoing ultrasound scans.
  • Attending to patient’s needs, including chaperone duties, in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Adhering to patient confidentiality always and complying with Data Protection.
  • Transferring all patient images to head office at the end of each clinic.
  • Participating in all training by e-learning or other methods.

Person Specification


Good standard of Education i.e. GCSE’s or equivalent

Experience of working in a team

Customer or Patient facing experience

Basic IT/keyboard skills

Access to a reliable vehicle and full driving licence due to many of our clinics not being accessible by public transport (business insurance will be required)

Ability to travel throughout the region is required to cover multiple sites

Eligibility to reside and work in the UK

Good general health and physical fitness

Enhanced DBS will be taken

References will be taken

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: £9.49 per hour
