Referral Guide

PML offer ultrasound investigations in the following specialties and provide high specification imaging equipment and appropriately qualified staff to perform clinics:

  • General Abdominal
  • Gynaecology
  • Renal/Bladder/Prostate
  • Testicular
  • Musculoskeletal
  • Vascular

 

Advice from a Consultant Radiologist will be available if clinically appropriate, our Consultants have specialist interests, which include Musculoskeletal, Gynaecological, and Vascular Ultrasound.

How to refer

PML provides a seamless referral pathway for your community ultrasound patients, all managed by our highly trained and helpful Patient Management Centre.

Referrals can be accepted via:

Area/CCG specific electronic referral forms are available via our clinic finder; simply add your practice postcode and the closest clinics and specific referral forms will be available for you to download. Or you can always call our Patient Management Centre on 01691 676496 if you have any specific questions.

PML’s dedicated Patient Management Centre (PMC) provide all needs associated with an integrated community service.

All operations are managed electronically, ensuring a seamless, secure service with all requirements of Information and Clinical Governance fulfilled.

The PMC and our bespoke software application iPMC manage all electronic transfer of records, enabling prompt review and diagnosis of images in accordance with best practice guidelines across care settings.

Additional iPMC functionality includes Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for real time, accurate management of the service pathway enabling immediate response to demand and capacity.

Equipment

PML use high quality, portable ultrasound equipment, which allows us to perform mobile community based clinics. The advanced practitioners, who perform our scans, have direct access to our Consultant team. This mobile service
